ITALY - AND DAER - SEND THE LARGEST DELEGATION TO THE 48TH EUROPEAN ROTORCRAFT FORUM

For its 48th edition, scheduled for September 6-8, 2022, the European Rotorcraft Forum (ERF) will be held for the first time in Switzerland, in Winterthur, organized by ZHAW. Pierluigi Capone, a Politecnico di Milano laureate in Aeronautical Engineering now serving as Team leader of Flight Mechanics and Flight Control Systems at ZHAW’s Centre for Aviation (ZAV) is the Chairman.

This edition will see strong participation of Italian presenters, perhaps the strongest in ERF’s nearly half-century-long history: 27 abstracts have been accepted (21% of the submissions), surpassing Germany, second with 24 (19%). Of these 27 abstracts, 21 originate from Italian universities, testifying to the vitality of rotorcraft-related research in our academia: 13 are from Politecnico di Milano (12 from DAER), 5 from the University of Bologna, 2 from the University Roma Tre, and 1 from the University of Modena-Reggio Emilia. The remaining ones are from the industry, the vast majority, of course, being from Leonardo Helicopter Division.

The ERF is the conference of the Rotorcraft Technical Committee of CEAS, the organization of European aerospace societies.

The 48th edition will be characterized by a diversity of topics, with a growing presence of unmanned rotorcraft and electric propulsion (eVTOL).

If you are interested in rotorcraft, powered-lift, and advanced air mobility you cannot miss this opportunity.
