UNVEILING PILOT BIOMECHANICS: INSIGHTS FROM ROTORCRAFT SIMULATION TRIALS

06 maggio 2024 — 0 minuti di lettura

In the field of biomechanics and physiological signal acquisition, we've explored human-machine interaction within real-time rotorcraft flight simulation systems.

With LWT3's support, we measured the muscular activity of pilots during flight simulation trials conducted at the RPC test bed - developed with the support of Leonardo Helicopters Division - of the FRAME laboratories at Bovisa Campus.

In our tests, pilots Fabio Bocola and Marek Lukasiewicz were asked to perform mission task element (MTEs) designed to induce a high workload, inspired by those defined by the ADS-33 standard. Our goal was to evaluate the pilots' responses to unexpected events occurring during trials.

This collaboration advances our understanding of pilot cognitive and biomechanical behavior, potentially impacting aerospace technology and rotorcraft flight operations.

Stay tuned for the developments as we delve into data analysis!
