MISSION
The main objectives for the Palamede mission is to take pictures of the Earth surface using a commercial CCD camera. Therefore CCD camera can be considered as the principal payload of the satellite. This is a standard "commercial" objective.
But Palamede project can be considered a test-bed for many different technologies. In fact we want to:
- to test and qualify in space a new kind of solar cells that are mounted in one of the five solar panels of Palamede;
- evaluate Li-ions battery cells in space environment;
- evaluate the use of non space qualified electronics boards as main part of on-board electronics.
These secondary objectives shall demonstrate that these components, if properly prepared, can be used in space environment with a high level of reliability.
