EXPERIMENTAL AERODYNAMICS IN F1

SEMINAR


22ND DECEMBER AT 16.15 IN CLASSROOM BL27.1.4 OR ONLINE

In the frame of the course of Experimental Aerodynamics, Diego Spreafico, Senior Aerodynamics Engineer in F1 team will give a seminar about experimental aerodynamics in F1.
The seminar will cover the importance and the role of experiments in the development of F1 vehicles, starting from wind tunnel tests to trackside activity.

Diego Spreafico

Short bio
Passionate about Formula 1 and motorsport from a very young age, Diego Spreafico earned his MSc in Aerospace Engineering with specialisation in experimental aerodynamics at Politecnico di Milano in 2012.
He then moved to United Kingdom to start his career in Formula 1 and can now count over ten years of experience in the sport, split between Scuderia Toro Rosso and Mercedes AMG F1 Team.
With the German manufacturer he contributed to four Constructor Championship titles and three Driver Championship titles between 2018 and 2022 in the role of Senior Aerodynamicist.
Whilst transitioning to the next chapter in his career, he has recently worked on the Ineos Britannia America’s Cup project. In the new year he will join Scuderia AlphaTauri in the new role of Aero Performance and Correlation Team Leader.
