Marco Atzori

I studied Physics in Genova, got a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at KTH (Stockholm), spent some time at the Johannes Kepler University (Linz) and, since 2023, I am Researcher at the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology of Politecnico di Milano.

I am primarily interested in Fluid Mechanics and numerical simulations. I have experience with both commercial software and in-house codes, and both for small setup on PCs and large-scale simulations on clusters. Even though I am not a software developer by trade, I think coding is kind of funny.

In the past years, I have been working on high-fidelity simulations of the turbulent flow around airfoil, including cases with control, on the study of turbulent coherent structures, on modelling for particle dispersion in turbulent flows, and on segregation control in fluidized beds.

Currently, I am working with Prof. Maurizio Quadrio on simulations of airflow through the nasal cavity and the upper part of the respiratory ways.
