SECOND PROGRESS MEETING FOR THE ASI-ISTAR PROJECT

On March 4th, the SPIRE research group, with the collaboration of the COMPASS group, had the opportunity to organize and attend the second progress meeting for the ISTAR project at the headquarter of the Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (ASI), in Rome.

This collaboration is the result of an agreement between Agenzia Spaziale Italiana and Politecnico di Milano for the scientific-technical support to Aeronautica Militare in the Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST) field, involving other research institutions as Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Università degli Studi di Padova, and Istituto di scienza e tecnologie dell'informazione "A. Faedo" (CNR-Isti).

The covered topics encompass Space Traffic Management (STM), fragmentation analysis, atmospheric re-entry, sensor tasking, telescope image processing and RSO characterisation.
