Starting from January 16th the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology of Politecnico di Milano (@AerospacePolimi) had the opportunity to deliver a week-long Training Course to the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (@EASA) on the “Handling Qualities requirements in Certification Specification”.

The course has been a full immersion on how to draw handling quality requirements for certification and how to set tests to assess them following the approach provided by the Aeronautical Design Standard ADS-33 with an eye on the possible application of similar criteria to innovative VTOL configurations.
It was a great opportunity for POLIMI to review concepts they have been teaching in the university courses to a team of professional with an extended experience in flight testing.
Thanks to all the instructors: Gareth Padfield, Giuseppe Quaranta, Marco Lovera, Maurizio Parolini, Andrea Zanoni, and also to the team of tutors who supported the computational and simulation lab activities.
A big thanks goes also to Leonardo Helicopters who supported the course providing their simulation facilities for hands-on sessions.
