AEROSPACE ENGINEERING PHD STUDENT WON ONE OF THE FULBRIGHT 2021 FELLOWSHIPS

Aerospace engineering PhD student Laura Pernigoni won one of the Fulbright Visiting Student Researcher fellowships, which offer to graduate students enrolled in a PhD program in Italy the opportunity to conduct research in a US university.

During academic year 2021/2022 Laura will join Professor Katia Bertoldi’s team at the prestigious Harvard University to study innovative deployable structures for space applications.

Short bio:

Laura Pernigoni is a PhD student at the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology at Politecnico di Milano. She is currently working on combined experimental and numerical characterization of innovative materials and space structures. Her research interests include inflatable structures, self-healing materials, space radiation effects and space debris mitigation
