CFD-DRIVEN DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT: COMPUTATIONAL WORKFLOWS AND THE ROAD AHEAD IN DALLARA AUTOMOBILI

SEMINAR

Tuesday, 4 November, at 10:30, Politecnico di Milano, Room B8.08, Campus Durando, Via Candiani, 72 , 20158, Milano

This seminar explores the evolving role of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in high-performance automotive engineering, with a focus on methodology innovation at Dallara Automobili.

Attendees will gain insights into the development of computational models, solver optimization strategies, data post-processing techniques, and the integration of CFD workflows into the design process.

Through real-world examples and technical discussion, the talk will showcase how CFD continues to shape the future of vehicle performance and innovation.

Speaker:

Edoardo Alinovi is a Senior CFD Methodology Engineer at Dallara Automobili. He earned his PhD in Fluid Dynamics from the University of Genova in 2017, focusing on multiscale computational models for bioinspired low-friction surface coatings tailored to hydrodynamic applications. Following his doctoral studies, he joined the McLaren Formula 1 Team as a Specialist CFD R&D Engineer, focusing on CFD software development and solver strategy optimization. Since 2023, he has been part of Dallara’s CFD Methodology group, where he contributes to the advancement of simulation-driven design in high-performance automotive engineering.
