21 February 2024 — 0 minutes read

PhDAER Seminar
Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 10:20 am to 12:20 pm - Room BL.27.13, Campus Bovisa, Via Lambruschini, 4 - 20156 - Milano (MI)

The seminar provides a comprehensive overview of the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) design principles and challenges associated with planetary landing missions.

The seminar covers key concepts, methodologies, and technologies involved in ensuring the safe and precise landing of spacecraft on planets with and without atmosphere.

Insights into the unique considerations and complexities of GNC design for planetary landing, including trajectory planning, sensor technologies, control, and hazard detection and avoidance systems are presented.

In addition to covering key concepts and methodologies, the seminar presents an overview of a specific application case, the Argonaut mission.

Speaker:

Dr. Vincenzo Pesce got a PhD in Aerospace Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, then he had different experiences enrolled in European Space related top companies in the GNC divisions.
