24 October 2023 — 0 minutes read

The NASA International Space Apps Challenge ↗ is a hackathon organized yearly by NASA for coders, engineers, students, and innovators, in more than 300 locations around the world.

PoliMi students Haseeb Ashfaq and Michele Marrone, as a part of the team TUX, won the first prize in the Turin Local Event, organized by I3P in Politecnico di Torino, in collaboration with ESA BIC Turin.

In particular, the idea, that led team TUX to win the first prize offered by Thales Alenia Space was the creation of an app, called Otto, that makes satellite data available to the community.

This idea was developed in response to the challenge, selected by the team, “Nasa in Your Neighbourhood”.
