TEF: Space Surveillance Infrastructure for Emerging Countries

Description of the research and its implications​

The project involves establishing cooperation with developing countries to coordinate and strengthen their capabilities in the field of space surveillance.
Specifically, the project objectives are:​

  • To identify potential partners.​
  • To evaluate the sensors provided by partners and to develop and implement orbital determination procedures for processing the data.​
  • To develop and implement software modules for the cataloguing of space objects and the provision of space surveillance and tracking services.


Key contributions from DAER​

The project is funded through the call for ideas under the TEF (Tech Europe Foundation) Postdoc programme, and its sole beneficiary is Marco Felice Montaruli, Principal Investigator of the project and affiliated with DAER.​
