Descrizione della ricerca e sue ricadute
- The project aims to identify novel green liquid propellants with reduced environmental impact. It will demonstrate the feasibility of the manufacturing process and its compatibility with typical space propulsion applications, while providing an estimation of propulsion performance, including specific impulse and other relevant metrics.
Contributi principali DAER
- Review and assessment of the reference literature and available design/experimental data.
- Identification/refinement and accordance with the customer of the parameters of merit guiding the final selection and definition of the baseline propellant.
- Identification and shortlisting of potential candidates through ideal computations and definition/refinement of the test matrix.
- Analysis of compatibility of the new ingredients.
- Analysis of storage conditions under compatible atmosphere.
- Troubleshooting supporting the incorporation of new ingredients.
- Participation in Progress Meetings with ESA when planned.
- Participation in Meeting with Industry as ESA technical support when required.
- Elaboration of agreed Papers/Articles to be published in the appropriate Journals
