Savino Alberto

He earned a Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering with honors in 2023 from Politecnico di Milano.

During his Ph.D., he worked on the coupling between DUST and MBDyn, becoming a technical reference point for DUST. He specializes in interactional aerodynamics of rotary wings and their application to next-generation aircraft.

He currently works as a wind tunnel technician at the Aerodynamics Laboratory of the Department of Aerospace Science and Technologies, supporting the interaction between experimental activities and numerical analyses.

Aerodynamics Experimental Laboratory

The Aerodynamics Experimental Laboratory of Politecnico di Milano is a reference infrastructure for aerodynamic and aeroacoustic experimentation, supporting both scientific research and industrial development.

Laboratory activities include experimental testing of models and components, force and pressure measurements, advanced flow diagnostics (PIV, anemometry, and optical techniques), and aeroacoustic analysis. These activities support applications in aeronautical, industrial, and sports engineering, both within the department’s facilities and in the Large Wind Tunnel of Politecnico di Milano (GVPM).

The laboratory participates in several European research projects on fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, in collaboration with leading research institutes, as well as international universities.
