Grassi Donato

Lab Manager

Aerospace engineer, trained at Politecnico di Milano, he has been active in the Aerodynamics Laboratory at the Bovisa campus since its early stages.

He has played a key role in the laboratory’s growth, contributing to the design of major facilities and the development of measurement systems.

His work focuses on the design, development, and execution of wind tunnel tests, including the creation of control systems and software, for which he also manages test operations.

He has also played a pioneering role at the Politecnico in initiating and developing experimental activities in sports aerodynamics.

Since 2019, he has held the position of Technical Manager of the Aerodynamic Laboratory.

Aerodynamics Experimental Laboratory

The Aerodynamics Experimental Laboratory of Politecnico di Milano is a reference infrastructure for aerodynamic and aeroacoustic experimentation, supporting both scientific research and industrial development.

Laboratory activities include experimental testing of models and components, force and pressure measurements, advanced flow diagnostics (PIV, anemometry, and optical techniques), and aeroacoustic analysis. These activities support applications in aeronautical, industrial, and sports engineering, both within the department’s facilities and in the Large Wind Tunnel of Politecnico di Milano (GVPM).

The laboratory participates in several European research projects on fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, in collaboration with leading research institutes, as well as international universities.
