Associate Professor

Alex Zanotti, Ph.D. He is Associate Professor of Fluid Dynamics at Politecnico di Milano since 2022. He is the Scientific Coordinator of the Experimental Aerodynamics Laboratory of the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology of Politecnico di Milano. He is the Deputy Director of the Scientific Council of the Politecnico di Milano Wind Tunnel (www.windtunnel.polimi.it ↗). He obtained the M.Sc degree in Aerospace Engineering in 2006 and the Ph.D in Rotary Wing Aircrafts in 2012 from Politecnico di Milano. He is an aerodynamics specialist and his main research interest is rotorcraft aerodynamics with a particular insight on retreating blade dynamic stall control and blade vortex interaction. In recent years, he is involved in aerodynamics and aeroacoustics investigation of innovative configurations for Urban Air Mobility vehicles like eVTOL aircraft. He was Scientific Responsible for the development of the mid-fidelity aerodynamic solver DUST. He was involved in several EU funded projects (FP6, FP7, CleanSky and CleanSky2) regarding helicopter aerodynamics and tiltrotor aerodynamics.
